Programming The Power Key

Your Radio Shack remote control can be programmed for up to six different devices. Some device which may be stored to your Radio Shack universal remote control are as followed: TV, Amplifier/AUX, Cable/ CBL & Satellite/SAT, CD, DVD, and VCR . After your remote control is fully programmed, you will have access to all of your home entertainment devices via a single remote control. Just think of all the time and headaches you'll save by not having to search for 6 different remote controls.

To program your Radio Shack Universal Remote Control to all of your devices, follow these instructions:

1. POWER OFF all of your devices.

2. Press down and hold the (P) button until you see a red signal light flash twice.

3. Next Push the following keys in sequence 9, 9, 5. Once again the red signal light will flash twice.

4. Now Push the POWER button.

5. Push a single device key, or every device key. Push one key at a time and in order from left to right.

6. Press down and hold the (P) button until you see a red signal light flash twice.

Reassigning Devices

We know that a Radio Shack Universal Remote Control can be programmed to control your TV, AUX, VCR, CBL, CD, and SAT. But did you know that it can also be set to control a DVD, Blu-ray, and other devices?

The Radio Shack Universal Remote Control allows you to reassign an unused device key. For Example: Select a key not being used such as SAT, and program it to operate another device such as your DVD. Use the following steps to reassign the desired unused device keys:

1. Press down and hold the (P) button until you see a red signal light flash twice.

2. Next Push the following keys in sequence 9, 9, 2. Once again the red signal light will flash twice.

3. Now press the device key for the device you wish to add (for example, DVD). After you choose a key, you will need choose and press an unused device key. (for example, SAT). The red light blinks twice.

4. Now Push the POWER button.

Device Groups

Device Group 1 - VCR, DVD, CD, and AUX
Device Group 2 - TV, VCR, CBL/SAT, DVD, CD, and AUX
Device Group 3 - TV, VCR, CBL/SAT, DVD, CD, and AUX
Device Group 4 - TV, VCR, CBL/SAT, and DVD


*note: Device Groups are preset as follows:

Device Group 1 - VCR
Device Group 2 - TV
Device Group 3 -CBL/SAT
Device Group 4 -CBL/SAT
