Locating Unlisted Brands & Codes

Having trouble locating the codes for your bard of TV, DVD, VCR or Audio equipment? No problem. Cox digital remote controls have a built in program that allows you to search a built-in data base for the correct codes.

In order to access the built-in code data base and locate the desired codes you will need to follow a few steps:

First you'll need to select a device to program. For this exercise we will use a DVD player (follow these steps for each device you wish to program).

1) Turn on your DVD player.

2) Next press the DVD Button located at the top of the remote control one time. The selected device button (DVD) will flash once.

3) Now push and hold the SETUP button until the DVD button flashes two times. Immediately after releasing the SETUP button use the numbered keypad to enter the code 991. IF the code was accepted the DVD light will flash two times. This means that your remote control is prepped & ready to begin searching for the correct code.

4) To begin your code search simply point the remote control at the DVD player. Now alternate between pushing the POWER button and the DVD button; once the DVD player turns off, STOP everything. Once the DVD has turned off you'll need to lock in the code.

*note: It is recommender that you alternate between the POWER button and the device (DVD) button slowly so that you avoid jumping a code. This will also help to avoid locking the wrong code.

5) To lock the code, push the SETUP button once. The DVD button will then flash two times. Congratulations, you have just successfully programmed your Cox remote control to operate your DVD player.
