Changing Volume Lock
The Comcast Custom 3-Device universal remote control is setup to control the TV volume in all modes. However, you may change the Volume Lock setting to individually control the volume for each device. This will unlock each device one at a time.
1. Press the corresponding mode button for the device you wish to unlock the volume and control within its own mode (e.g. press the AUX button if you wish to control the volume on your Audio Receiver).
2. On the remote press and hold the Setup button until the mode key you chose blinks twice, then release the Setup button.
3. Enter 9-9-3 and then press the VOL+ button once. The mode key will blink four times to confirm that it has been successfully unlocked.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for each device that you want to unlock the volume.
5. When a device is now selected that has volume unlock pressing the VOL+, VOL-, or mute buttons will control the devices volume only within its own mode.
Global Volume Unlock
Global Volume Unlock unlocks all volume controls all at once so that all individual devices can be operated in their own modes.
1. On the remote press and hold the Setup button until the mode key blinks twice, then release the Setup button.
2. Enter 9-9-3 and then press the VOL+ button once. The mode key will blink four times to confirm that it has been successfully unlocked.
3. When a device is now selected that has Global Volume Unlock pressing the VOL+, VOL-, or mute buttons will control the devices volume only within its own mode.
Restoring Global Volume Lock to Default Mode
1. On the remote press the TV mode key. Then press and hold the Setup button until the TV mode key blinks twice, then release the Setup button.
2. Enter 9-9-3 and press The TV mode key. The TV mode key will blink twice to confirm that it has been successfully been locked.
3. When a device is now selected that has Global Volume Lock and you press the VOL+, VOL-, or mute buttons the volume of the selected device will be controlled no matter which mode is selected
Reassigning Mode Keys
You may set up the remote to control a second device. For example if you would like to control a TV, Cable Box, and a second TV you will need to reassign the unused AUX key to operate a second TV.
1. On the remote press the AUX mode key. Then press and hold the Setup button until the until the AUX mode key blinks twice, then release the Setup button.
2. Enter 9-9-2 and the AUX key will blink twice.
3. Press the TV button and then the AUX button. The AUX key will blink twice.
4. The AUX mode is now ready for your second TV to be programmed.
Deactivating Channel Control Lock
The remote control defaults to control the channels to the cable box. The keys affected on the remote are numbers 0-9, Channel+, Channel-, Enter, and Last. This is so you do not accidentally change the channel while it the TV mode. You can however turn of this feature by deactivating the Channel Control Lock.
1. On the remote press the Cable mode key. Then press and hold the Setup button until the Cable mode key blinks twice, then release the Setup button.
2. Enter 9-7-3 and press the Channel- button. The Cable mode key will blink four times.
3. The remote control will now allow you to access the channels while in TV or Cable mode.
Reactivating Channel Control Lock
1. On the remote press the Cable mode key. Then press and hold the Setup button until the Cable mode key blinks twice, then release the Setup button.
2. Enter 9-7-3 and press the Channel+ button. The Cable mode key will blink twice.
3. The remote control will now only allow channel control off the cable box regardless of which mode you may be in.
